BTW, There has not been one single bot registrant in better than 12 hours. Normally, I would have dozens by now. Not that they aren't trying, mind you.

We are still letting the nice squishies in though right?

so, a whopping two spambots managed to bungle their way in, to fall into traps afterward. So, I added yet another layer of bot confusion to the registration process which should stop them all.

Still having problems here, miskie - seen it on both Firefox and Opera Mini today.  I hit submit to post a reply and the next page never loads, it simply sits there.  But if I go into the Society on a separate tab I can see that the reply has posted fine.

This is a recent problem as I definitely wasn't seeing it a week ago before I went away.

Alrighty -- well, the server has been running 24/7 without reset for the last 180 days. Ill give it a reboot in the wee hours of the morning and see if it cleans up things. If not Ill go digging for any recent updates.

Still happening here, FWIW.

Submit fast reply, page just remains on the reply screen. Navigate away to check the thread and yes, the post has been made. Just happened in my response in the Dead Rising 2 thread, in case that time info is useful.

I think it's happened on every one of my posts today, but doesn't happen if I edit a post or send a PM, if that helps.

EDIT - yep, that one too.

It does seem to be getting worse.  It's happening all the time for me too.

If you leave it, it eventually returns you to the thread. Eventually.

okay - I went through Apache -- it seems to be fine, I am also logging slow database queries to see if the problem lies there.

With that being said..

I deleted the old Mysql log, as it had grown to 47 megs big, making it easier to identify all new logged activity. Now, the site seems faster than ever. So, now I'm wondering if the gigantic log was causing slowdowns.

it's about 50:50 for me

on a different note I am now seeing the pointy hand/green blob new post symbols next to the different topics/sections no matter whether I've read them or not

I'm still getting the same as I had been here, though, unlike Jones, I (still) only get the new post notifications when I shouldn't when I've made a post I'd submitted and then had to 'escape' from (normally just achieved by clicking the forum title (or similar) once it's started to hang after I've clicked 'Submit').

Okay, I take it back, a few of them are actually going through okay now. Rather speedily in fact, though I'm not sure if they're actually going through quicker than ever, or if it just feels like it because it's been a few days since it was quicker than never...

EDIT - that one too. [jinx]First one or two today hung again, but I think it's all seemed okay since then[/jinx].

I think I had a total of two 'hanging' posts at the weekend, but haven't been troubled since.

I'm now noticing that the new posts notification seems to be stuck.  The lights return to green even if you click on them, and the pointy hands against the topics don't go away.  (Using Chromium.)
