What's an ad impression?

Anyway, let's recap. The app doesn't work great and is the source of all the issues in this section of the forum, they don't fix long-standing bugs, they spoil games, they force ads into the forum disguised as posts, and now they are actively insulting Miskie.

Why do you keep using Tapatalk again?

Because despite everything it's still the best way of browsing the forum on an iPhone.  The new Timeline view is great and shows all the posts in reverse order, making it very easy to check you've seen everything.  Most stuff works OK.  The outstanding issues would be very easy for them to fix, and it's increasingly frustrating that they don't.

The official forum mobile view is OK, but the layout and font sizes are a bit painful and it's got more than its fair share of problems with even basic stuff like italics not displaying properly.  Tapatalk is better.

Tapatalk upgraded. Sadly, the same problems with Spoilers exist.

I have even tried to manually tweak Tapatalk itself, to no avail.

Yeah, I'm continuing to make a nuisance of myself on Twitter every time they release yet another cosmetic upgrade without addressing any of the underlying bugs, and I've even had some responses, but no sign of any improvement yet.  Thanks for keeping on top of this anyway.  The latest release of Tapatalk is at least fairly nice, it's the best it's been for a while (certainly since the v2 upgrade).

The administrative interface now supports on-the-fly text replacements specifically to address oddities with BBCode and Tapatalk, where it could be set to replace 'spoiler' with 'Spoiler' before the Tapatalk enabled device reads it, so that the tag displays correctly. Its a fairly good solution, as it doesn't actually change any of the posts -it just makes them Tapatalk compatible.

Only it doesn't seem to work.

Anyway, I just upgraded a bunch of The Sock's internals, as well as the server itself to bleeding edge. Ill go back and tinker again, and see if that helps at all. It probably won't - but at least everything is fully updated - meaning I accomplished something along the way at the very least.

How fucking hard is it for them to change their regex from /\[Spoiler\]/ to /\[[Ss]poiler\]/?

Ultimately, that's what I did for them.

Code: [Select]
'/\[Spoiler=(.*?)\]/', '[Spoiler]'

'/\[spoiler=(.*?)\]/', '[Spoiler]'

'/\[spoiler\]/', '[Spoiler]'

'/\[\/spoiler\]/', '[/Spoiler]'

'/Spoiler for Hiden:(.*?)\[\/spoiler\]/si', '[Spoiler][/Spoiler]'

The code block above is confusing the crap out of Tapatalk...  :D

Is it possible for Tapatalk to preview the last message in a thread and not the first? When I open the forum, especially on long threads, it's nice to get a preview of what was last said.

Use the Timeline view.
