YouTube links are broken
« Topic Start: May 14, 2015, 06:50:50 AM »
A bit of a technical issue here and I can't find a workaround.  YouTube links appear to be broken on the forum, throwing up a Device Support video that links to the following page:

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6098135?p=yt_devicesupport&hl=en-GB&rd=1

The Assassin's Creed: Syndicate thread gives a couple of examples.  Is there a forum upgrade or something we can do to fix this?

Okay - thanks for the heads-up on this. Ill have to see if I can find a way around this issue. It might be tricky as the addon for YT is no longer in development.

testing...

Okay - I've made a few changes, and added a new & functional YouTube / Vimeo device.  You will find a pair of buttons to generate a BBCode tag that you can surround your video with, and post it that way.. Or just drop a YT link in your post. The forum will know what to do.

Also, I took the time to browse the old "Favorite song of the week" thread (since it is chock full of YT links) and they seem to be functioning. So, the fixeratin' seems to have taken hold just fine :D

Thanks miskie! Sterling work as ever.

One minor point: the videos don't work in the mobile skin. You just get a load of blank space (no indication there's even a video there). Other than that it's all good.

I really need to replace the mobile skin. It still has several issues.

I figure the best way to deal with The Singularity is to make friends with the technology before it runs amok.
