Cheap board games at The Works.
« Topic Start: April 14, 2016, 06:39:55 AM »
I just posted this in Hapi's forum but I guess it applies anywhere where there is a branch of The Works.

There are a bunch of board games in The Works on Princess Street just now, all for either £10 or £12, unfortunately I've never played any of them so I'm worried that the reason they are there is that they are rubbish...

Madame Ching looks good. It's a game about trying to pirate more treasure than your opponents. It has a gorgeous map and cards and the reviews I read are favourable.

Sun Tzu is a two player strategy game played with cards and a small board. Reviews suggest it's good.

Artificum looks interesting. It's all about resources and transferring one thing into another as you build your city. It keeps everythiong manageable by giving each player a flow chart game board to play on. The reviews say it can be a bit annoying when another player knocks out the base of your flow chart and stops everything working.

Other games included:

Wild Fun West
Funfair
World of tanks rush
Expedition Altiplano
Kamakor gosu
Gosu Tactics
Shafausa
War of the realms, ereserk

They're all cheaper, or have been cheaper, online.

Well obviously. Have you any idea if any of them are any good though?

BGG is arguing about them. I think some are supposed to be OKish.

Yeah, I've been reading reviews and have decided that I don't need any of them.
