well, if i hadn't feigned death i would have died, yeah. what feign death does is that the enemy stops attacking you and attacks someone else instead. it's a classic hunter technique that really boils down to shifting your problems onto someone else.

in that situation, there was no way the DK was going to live. if i hadn't feigned death, the dragon would have killed me, turned on him and killed him, and reset to full health. we would have had to try all over again as a group. i could have done nothing to heal him, and i couldn't really do anything to get the dragon to stop attacking him and attack me instead after i had FD'd. what happened was the only way we could possibly have killed the boss on that attempt after the tank and healer died. in WoW, this very very rarely happens - in 99.99% of cases, if the tank and healer die, it results in a full group wipe (with maybe one or two cowardly hunters surviving by FDing). that's why this event was noteworthy - you never get to be the lone surviver who saved the group in WoW. you never get to be Bruce Willis.

DK = drama queen morons, in general.

Any time I had a DK in my group I just expected failure.

Which of you lot are still regularly playing this? I might look for a new home for my Druid (Resto/Balance) at some point and it'd be good to have some decent folks to run with, have some laughs over vent, that sort of thing. From what I remember though, you're all spread across different servers sad.gif

Killed Lady Deathwhisper first try the other night. Not bad for a ragtag band of barely geared casuals =P

And yes, I'm aware I'm largely talking to myself here.

Don't you believe it. I think this thread is past due another bout of dense and impenetrable RPG lingo.

Anyone here played any of the free WOWalikes? Free Realms for example. Any thoughts on how they match up? i sort of miss WoW, and I wouldn't mind the occasional dabble in something similar, but more lo-fi.

As far as my experience goes, the only thing that comes close to WoW, paid or otherwise, is Lord of the Rings Online (which is going free to play this Autumn).

WoW really was a milestone that hasn't been passed yet. No matter how jaded the fanbase has become, or how biased the playerbase of every other MMO is, World of Warcraft is simply the best game of the last decade as far as I'm concerned.

Edit: Also, Luscan, Worgan want. biggrin.gif

Has anyone on your server stolen the name Terry Worgen yet?
